System Integrators for Zero Energy Cost & Zero Energy Carbon Developments

TRSEC is scaling up the extreme energy efficiency of Warksburn Old Church from a single building to whole estates. We are creating the System Integration Blueprint and the Smart Energy Controls that enables physical developments to achieve 2ZEC status: Zero Energy Cost and Zero Energy Carbon.
Our proprietary model integrates modular Passivhaus housing, renewable generation, Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES), and ‘Green AI’ data centres into a single, closed-loop thermodynamic cycle connected via a community-scale smart electricity network. We convert community energy liabilities into high-yield assets by using:
- waste heat from energy-intensive compute operations to turbocharge storage efficiency;
- waste chilling from energy storage to reduce data centres’ energy requirements;
- surplus renewables from home generation to build community energy reserves;
- community energy reserves for grid trading to generate financial profits.
Leadership Team
Dr Alan James | Project Director
Strategic lead with deep experience where infrastructure, innovation and investment intersect, ranging from high-speed transport networks to advanced energy storage. Alan is the developer and owner of Warksburn Old Church, the world’s only Passivhaus-certified church conversion. It is the physical “Negative Bills and Zero Carbon” proof-of-concept for the 2ZEC model.
Andy McKay | Technical Director
Serial smart energy entrepreneur and former Utility Group CIO. Andy serves on the board of Nusku (next-generation heat pumps) and is a former board member at myenergi. He serves as the technical architect for the 2ZEC microgrid.
Current Status
TRSEC is currently in stealth mode, developing the 2ZEC Blueprint Feasibility Study to validate the techno-economic architecture for 500-home Zero Bill communities.
